PhD In Education Management

This programme delivers a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical research skills, divided into coursework and a comprehensive research project. Students will engage in high-level modules that cover key aspects of education management and business strategy.

The DBA is a flexible yet demanding online program that allows students to progress at their own pace. The duration of the program varies depending on the chosen pathway—coursework or research. Most students complete the qualification within three years, though those opting for the research pathway may earn their degree in less than three years.

The PhD/DBA in Education Management is a comprehensive program divided into two segments: coursework and a research project. Segment 1 consists of eight in-depth modules, including advanced research methods, managerial economics, financial management, and leadership in organizations. These modules provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in areas such as marketing management, business ethics, and decision-making. Segment 2 involves a rigorous research report, allowing students to specialize in a chosen topic within education management. Delivered online, this flexible yet demanding program can be completed in three years, equipping professionals to excel in educational leadership and strategic decision-making.

Entry requirement

Master’s or an equivalent recognized academic title in Education/Business Management
Master’s or an equivalent recognized academic title in any discipline with over five years of managerial and/or business experience
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent recognized academic title in any discipline with over eight years of managerial and/or business experience

This module will equip students with the qualitative and quantitative principles to undertake research at the doctorate level. The research principles will include a review of theoretical principles informed by Research Philosophy and Research Approach along with empirical research principles involving Research Strategy, Data Collection Method and Data Analysis Method. Additionally, students will be equipped to make appropriate judgements based on ethical practices during the PhD research.

This module is developed to provide an understanding of the basic principles and concepts of micro and macroeconomic theory and their applications in the field of management. It provides the tools and techniques of economic analysis commonly used in decision-making by managers. It develops the ability to analyse and solve economic problems firms and organisations face.

MARKETING MANAGEMENT

This course covers all aspects of marketing, including strategic marketing planning, marketing research, product development and planning, promotion planning, distribution, and pricing. It teaches students about marketing mix theories and how to use them in the context of the marketing management cycle phases of research, planning, organisation, implementation, and control.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

This course explains financial control at the corporate management level with special reference to policies and practices required to plan and control the sources and uses of a firm's funds. Emphasis on working capital management and selection of alternative investment opportunities, funds acquisition, dividend policies, optimal debt-equity mix, and budgetary and related procedures as basic tools which provide data used by management for decision-making purposes.
